Tamil Nadu's gateway to the Western Ghats

Coimbatore is a study in contrast in more ways than one; traditional Tamilian population intermingled with a recent migrant workforce from north India, a dry, urban, industrial city to the east, and the reserve forests and mountains of the Western Ghats to its west, Coimbatore, and a climate swinging between wet and dry. Coimbatore located between two southern states offers a gateway between the temples of Tamil Nadu and the forests, coasts and backwaters of Kerala.
