Ajmer
A pilgrimage site for Hindus & Muslims alike
Ajmer, stemming from words that mean ‘invincible hill’ is a town located in a picturesque valley of the Aravalli hill range. South west of Jaipur city, Ajmer mostly serves as a base to visit Pushkar, yet it is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and Muslims alike with a fort, a few mosques and a mausoleum of Moinuddin Chisti, the founder of a sect of Sufism, as witness to its place in history.
