Holi
A spring festival of colour, water fights & mischief
In a colorful country like India, it should come as no surprise that we have a festival dedicated to color and merriment. The festival of Holi celebrates the arrival of the spring season with powdered color, water balloons, and mischief – deriving from the tradition of Lord Krishna, an impious avatar of the sustainer in Indian mythology, and his childhood friend, Radha. While the festival is celebrated across the country, north India’s revelry is the most colorful and playful, with Jaipur’s Cultural Festival being one of the highlights. Walk through the old city of Jaipur, as you watch a succession of bonfires, listen to local legends of the festival, followed by a regal dining experience at one of Jaipur’s many heritage hotels!
