Arna Jharna Desert Museum
Journey into the history of Rajasthan's desertfolk
The Arna Jharna Desert Museum was an effort to catalogue and preserve the rich and diverse folk art of Rajasthan, and preserve the flora and fauna of the surrounding desert. The museum houses an expansive collection of brooms from various tribes of the Marwar region in an effort to showcase the ethnological history and differences of the people. The different weaves and make of the brooms are an example of the ingenuity of the people in making the best of their resources.
The museum also houses an expansive collection of musical instruments some dating so far back into history that no one knows how to play them anymore! The room of puppets is another interesting exhibit, and guests can indulge in a little workshop of puppet making.
