Nashik Wine Trails
Discover India's indigenous wine region
India isn’t often considered a wine destination, yet the Nashik Valley region in Central India has been producing tropical, indigenous wines for 15 years. A four to five hour drive from Mumbai or Pune leads you to Nashik Valley, India’s first indigenous wine-producing region. With over 10 wineries located in and around the city of Nashik, you can take your pick of oenological thrills; learn the story of how the first winery, Sula Wines was set up in the region, visit small, artisanal winery units like Vallonne, or climb up the trellised slopes at Grover Zampa and learn about the different grape varietals, or head to Reveilo wines where exclusive wines are made. At each vineyard, you can learn about the process of winemaking, from white to rose to red, capture the techniques of barreling and bottling on your cameras, and finally, sample some of wines made on location!
