Sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola
For a touch of romance
Jag Mandir is a fantasy like palace in the middle of Lake Pichola (not to be confused with Jag Niwas or the Lake Palace). Built in the 1600s it is elaborately designed with eight stone elephants to guard its entrances and beautiful stone inlay adorns its walls. Shahjahan, the Mughal Emperor, sought refuge here when he was a young prince and it is said to have inspired many of the decorative details that were later incorporated into the building of the Taj Mahal. Enjoy a tranquil ride on the Lake Pichola listening to the lapping of the water alongside your boat, one of the most beautiful ways to take in the city of Udaipur. The boat ride offers spectacular views of the Aravalli mountain ranges over the rims of your mocktail glasses – we can’t think of a better way to watch a sunset.
