Nashik
India's indigenous grape-vine region
Nashik, was a city of great significance since the Vedic times; it finds mention in the great epic, Ramayana, ancient poets like Valmiki, Kalidasa and Bhavabhooti offered it great tributes in their verse, was a province under the Mughal empire, and was the ‘land of the brave’ in the times of the Maratha empire.
