Rumbak
A village perched at an altitude of 4,000 meters, Rumbak has a unique blend of breathtaking scenery, cultural experiences, and the chance to encounter some of the world’s most elusive wildlife. The most sought-after resident is undoubtedly the snow leopard, aptly earning Rumbak the nickname “Snow Leopard Capital of the World.” Within its landscape, which transforms dramatically with every changing season, Rumbak is also home to Tibetan wolves, blue sheep, Asiatic ibex, Ladakh urial, and a variety of bird species like golden eagles and vultures. The small settlement in the village offers a glimpse into Ladakh’s rich Tibetan Buddhist culture.
